The terms that apply when you use our website or book an IT recycling, data destruction or asset disposal service with Tech Labz.
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern the use of the Tech Labz IT Recycling UK website (itrecyclinguk.com) and any IT asset disposal, recycling, data destruction, logistics or related service ("Services") provided by Tech Labz Ltd ("Tech Labz", "we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales [Company Registration No.], with its registered office at Halliwell Industrial Estate, Rossini St, Bolton, BL1 8DL, United Kingdom.
By accessing our website, requesting a quote, or booking a collection, you ("the Customer", "you", "your") agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or Services.
These Terms apply to every quotation, order, collection and service we carry out, whether agreed by phone, email, our website contact form, or in writing. Any specific terms agreed in a signed contract or purchase order with a Customer (for example an NHS trust, council or enterprise framework agreement) take precedence over these Terms where they conflict.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force at the time you request a service is the version that applies to that transaction.
Tech Labz provides IT asset disposal (ITAD), WEEE recycling, secure data destruction, IT asset remarketing and related logistics services to businesses, NHS trusts, councils, schools and other organisations across the UK. The specific scope of any engagement is confirmed in the quotation or order confirmation issued to the Customer.
Quotations are provided based on the information supplied by the Customer (quantity, brand, model and condition of Equipment). Final pricing, including any buyback payment, may be adjusted following physical inspection of the Equipment at our facility if it materially differs from the description provided.
Unless stated otherwise, quotations are valid for 30 days from the date issued and are exclusive of VAT where applicable.
The Customer must ensure Equipment is accessible and ready for collection at the agreed date and time, and that our personnel are granted safe and reasonable access to the collection site. Additional charges may apply for failed collections caused by the Customer's failure to provide access, or where Equipment provided differs significantly from what was quoted.
Collections are carried out using GPS-tracked, insured vehicles, with a chain-of-custody record maintained from the point of collection.
While Tech Labz will carry out secure data destruction in accordance with recognised industry standards, the Customer remains responsible for backing up any data it wishes to retain before collection, and for confirming the Equipment handed over is authorised for disposal.
The Customer should remove or disclose any device-level passwords, encryption keys or mobile device management (MDM) locks that would prevent secure processing, where reasonably practicable.
Ownership and title of Equipment transfers to Tech Labz at the point of collection, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Once title has transferred, Tech Labz is entitled to process, refurbish, remarket, recycle or dispose of the Equipment at its discretion, subject to the data destruction and compliance obligations set out in these Terms.
Where Equipment has resale value, Tech Labz may offer a buyback payment. Buyback valuations quoted prior to collection are indicative and subject to confirmation following inspection and testing. Payments are typically processed within 14 days of final valuation, by bank transfer to the Customer's nominated account, unless otherwise agreed.
Following completion of a job, Tech Labz will issue relevant documentation to the Customer, which may include a WEEE waste transfer note, a Certificate of Destruction, and a recycling/asset report. It is the Customer's responsibility to retain this documentation for their own compliance and audit purposes.
Tech Labz maintains appropriate insurance for its collection and processing activities. Except in the case of death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud, our total liability arising from any single engagement is limited to the value of the fees paid (or payable) by the Customer for that engagement, unless otherwise required by law.
Tech Labz is not liable for data loss arising from the Customer's failure to back up data prior to collection, nor for indirect or consequential losses.
Either party may cancel a scheduled collection with reasonable notice. Tech Labz reserves the right to charge a reasonable fee for late cancellations (within 24 hours of a scheduled collection) where a vehicle and crew have already been allocated.
